"Dear friends, Happy New Year!
We bid farewell to the year 2022, which was full of momentous and momentous events. For East Kazakhstan University named after Sarsen Amanzholov it was a special one - our university celebrated its 70th anniversary. Thanks to the solidarity and work of many thousands of university staff we came to it with great achievements.
According to the results of the influential and recognised global QS ranking, Amanzholov University entered the top 300 best universities in the world and strengthened its position in the national ranking of multidisciplinary universities by taking 5th place. According to the results of the national qualification testing, VCU retained its leading position among the universities of the country.
Every year the number of scholarly publications in international scientific journals increases, in the last four years their number has increased by 68 percent. During this period the sum of financing of scientific projects has increased 15 times up to one billion seven hundred million tenge. Particular attention is paid to attracting and supporting young scientists to science. In recent years the number of doctoral students has increased 12-fold to eighty-eight. This is the result of a strategy effectively implemented at the university to transform it into a research university. Students from all regions of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad study at the University of East Kazakhstan and their number has doubled to 9 thousand. We are developing and modernising our infrastructure and have undertaken a major refurbishment of our academic buildings and Student Houses for the first time in 20 years. We have increased the salaries of lecturers and staff members by 160 percent, and we pay bonuses systematically.
The pride of our university is its students and graduates. They take an active part in the public life, excel in science, culture and sport, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region and the country.
I would like to express my gratitude to our labour veterans who take an active part in the life of the university, transfer their knowledge to students and professional experience to young scientists and teachers.
The staff of East Kazakhstan University named after Sarsen Amanzholov looks to the future with confidence, sets ambitious goals and will surely achieve them.
