Earlier it was reported that more than a dozen of educational programs will be introduced in EKU from 2023-2024 academic year within the framework of the national project "Strengthening the pedagogical educational potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan". One of the most unique and significant educational programs among the specialties - "Hydroecology, management and transboundary water security". Saltanat Adikanova, Dean of the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences, told about it.

- The government of the country has put the issue of solving problems related to water supply, water security, pollution of water resources and reduction of biodiversity of flora and fauna of water bodies on the agenda. For this reason this specialty was opened. After all, nowadays the topic of water is very actual not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the whole world. And since most of the territory of the republic is a semi-desert zone, the training of future specialists in this field is becoming increasingly important," says the dean.

According to her, the main goal of the educational program is to train qualified specialists capable of dealing with water security, modernize the water consumption system through the use of new digital technologies, integrate GIS-technologies and implement modern methods of chemical analysis.
