Nowadays the problem of water pollution is the most actual for all countries of the world. In particular, for Kazakhstan, because most of the area is occupied by desert and semi-desert zones. These are territories with a small number of water sources.

Realizing the urgency and importance of the problem, scientists of the country are conducting large-scale research works. Among them, scientific workers of the National Scientific Laboratory of Collective Use, functioning on the basis of Amanzholov University. At the moment the scientists of the university are working on the development of composite materials for effective water filtration.

In addition, in order to solve the environmental problem, the university has developed a new educational program "Hydroecology, Management and Transboundary Water Security". Graduates of this specialty will deal with water security, modernize the water consumption system through the use of new digital technologies, integrate GIS-technologies and modern methods of chemical analysis. By training highly qualified specialists, S. Amanzholov EKU will influence the future course of the eco-problem.
