The current year of 2022 has been a year of important events and achievements for the 70-year-old Amanzholov University.
In the outgoing year, the university strengthened its position in the national ranking of Kazakhstani universities, ranking 5th. According to the results of the research conducted in 2022, scientists of the university published 70 articles indexed in foreign scientific journals, i.e. the number of publications increased by 68%. The amount of funding for research projects has increased to 1 billion 700 million tenge.
Sarsen Amanzholov University of East Kazakhstan was included in the top 300 universities of the world according to the ranking of a British website specialising in the analysis of higher education institutions. Throughout the region of Eastern Europe and Central Asia Amanzholov University ranks from 251 to 300 in the EECA ranking of universities in 2022.
The year 2022 saw the opening of the Dana Bala Social Centre for Continuing and Inclusive Education for early childhood intervention. The laboratory "DIGITAL SOCIAL RESEARCH" dedicated to the memory of the founder of demographic science in Kazakhstan, Nikolai Vladimirovich Alekseenko, was opened. Also opened were a social and political research laboratory in honor of Marat Magzumov, candidate of historical sciences, a scientific library named after Academician Beibit Mamrayev, and a conference hall named after Academician Arstan Gazaliyev of the National Academy of Engineering of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Approximately 3,000 graduates received degrees from Amanzholov University of East Kazakhstan and over 2,500 applicants successfully enrolled in the university during the admission campaign.
Students of Amanzholov University have once again proved a high level of subject knowledge and teaching methods by becoming leaders in the national qualification testing of 2021, 2022.
Talented students won the 1st place in the regional festival "Student Spring". The title "Miss Ust-Kamenogorsk-2022" was won by Arianna Muratkanova, student of the university. Athletes also added to the piggy-bank of achievements with their victories. Thus, students of the Higher College Nikita Khoryakov and Malika Kadylzhanova won bronze at the World Cup in curling, an athlete in kickboxing Serikbol Yermekov won the World Cup - 2022 in Turkey with a dislocated shoulder. Magzhan Sherizatov, a second year student-athlete in Physical Education and Sport, won the World Weightlifting Championship. Asian Cup gold in armwrestling was won by students of VCU named after Sarsen Amanzholov. Athletes became champions of Asia in arm wrestling and kickboxing.
Within the framework of performance of scientific works on grant financing, and also dissertational researches in the field of science scientists of VCU named after Sarsen Amanzholov received five patents on inventions and on a useful model.
The first PhD graduates in Chemistry and Physics of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University signed their own diplomas. Young scientists Kydirmolla Akatan, Zhazira Mukazhanova and Dastan Buitkenov successfully defended their doctoral theses.
This year the scientists have confirmed the existence of repression camp on the territory of East Kazakhstan oblast, and the archeologists have found unique finds in Kurchum region.
Regular academic year began with large scale event - celebration of 70 years anniversary of East Kazakhstan University named after S. Amanzholov. Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek highly appreciated the work of the team, noting that the results of scientific and educational activities of Amanzholov University confidently ranks among the leading multi-profile universities in Kazakhstan and has great potential to become a research university in East Kazakhstan.
