Since 2020, the Presidential Decree approved August 10 as Abai Day and included it in the list of official holidays. Since then, the country annually celebrates the birthday of the great Kazakh enlightener, founder of Kazakh written literature, thinker, public figure Abai Kunanbayev.

In honor of the significant date in the EKU named after S. Amanzholov the event "Abai and Shakarim. Consonance of great sons", dedicated to Abai and his successor, an outstanding representative of Kazakh literature Shakarim Kudaiberdiev. During the lecture professor of the university, doctor of philological sciences, head of the Research Institute "Abaitanu" Aizhan Kartaeva familiarized the audience with the monograph "Lessons of Abai "full man " in the new century".

-The research institute "Abaitanu" is working intensively on the basis of the university. In the Linguistic-Technical University of Swiecie (Poland) operates youth scientific and educational center "Abai". In order to encourage the best students a special scholarship named after Abai was established. I published the author's monograph "Abai's legal vision and the " Karamola rule". All this is a clear proof of the large-scale work of the university to popularize the heritage of the poet. And, of course, the work in this direction will be continued, - said Rector Mukhtar Tolegen.

According to Aizhan Kartaeva, the Research Institute "Abaitanu" was opened within the framework of the 175th anniversary of the poet.

- We have a rich book fund. Research Institute "Abaitanu" actively supports schools in the region, thus promoting Abai's spiritual and moral philosophy to the younger generation. For 5th and 11th grades, a curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been developed, which is broadcast in schools throughout Kazakhstan," said the Abay scholar.

According to the speakers of the event, all citizens of Kazakhstan are the successors of Abay, who made an invaluable contribution to history and culture.
