Amanzholov University announces the start of accepting applications for the Uvaliev Yu.K. scholarship award.
This Scholarship is aimed at stimulating students to academic, scientific, social activities of the university, as well as perpetuating the memory of Yumash Karimovich Uvaliev, an outstanding teacher, scientist, honorary rector of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.
What is a Scholarship?
The scholarship is a cash payment in the amount of 25,000 (twenty-five thousand) tenge monthly for a period of 1 (one) semester during one academic year by transferring to a bank account only to valid University students.
Since the competition is held once a semester, a student who has already received a Scholarship once has the right to participate in this competition on a general basis in the future.
The appointment of a Scholarship does not cancel the student's right to receive a state, including an increased scholarship.
The scholarship cannot be transferred from one student to another.
The payment of the Scholarship is terminated in the case of:
- transfer of a student to another higher educational institution;
- finding a student on academic leave;
- internships at another university, etc.
Who can participate?
Applicants for a nominal Scholarship can be students of 2-4 courses of all bachelor's degree specialties of the NAO "Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University" who meet the following requirements:
- GPA above 3.5 for the current year of study (data must be confirmed by a copy of the record book or transcript);
- active participation in the research activities of the University - participant and/or winner in exhibitions, conferences, Olympiads, competitions at the university, regional, republican or international level; publication of scientific articles and works (copies of supporting documents, lists and prints of published scientific works must be provided);
- active participation in the public life of the University - participant and/or winner of sports creative competitions and competitions at the university, regional, republican or international level.
What data is needed to participate in the competition?
To participate in the Scholarship competition, applicants must submit the following set of documents (in Kazakh or Russian):
- student's application (Appendix 1 to the Regulations on the competition);
- a copy of the identity card;
- a copy of the student's record book or a transcript;
- description from the head of the department;
- presentation to the student from the dean of the faculty;
- the questionnaire of the participant of the competition (appendix 2 to the Regulations on the competition).
Where to submit documents and terms of submission?
Applications and documents must be submitted in hard copy to the Department of Science and Commercialization of Scientific Projects by November 30, 2021. Applications submitted later than the specified deadline are not subject to participation in the competition and will not be accepted.

The procedure for selecting applicants.
The Department of Science and Commercialization of Scientific Projects conducts a formal review of the submitted documents. Applicants who have passed the formal examination and occupy the first ten positions on the points scored are invited to a meeting of the competition commission to protect their portfolios in the form of a presentation of the applicant's scientific achievements. The decision on the nomination of the best candidate is made by the competition commission on the basis of the points scored. In case of identical scores from two or more applicants, the decision is made by open voting of the competition commission. The award of the Scholarship is approved by the decision of the Academic Council of the University.
